Anita Blake

Anita Blake is a necromancer, a mortal who possesses the ability to commune with the dead. Using this gift, Anita becomes a professional animator, one who is able to raise and communicate with the dead in zombie form. Anita can control zombies to a degree and is able to bind them to the grave after the zombies have outlived their usefulness. Anita is also a federal marshal and a licensed vampire slayer, often referred to as "The Executioner" due to the high number of vampire kills on record. Anita makes it clear that she only kills vampires that are breaking the law and has no desire to murder the innocent.
