Summary
The cat spotted Christopher and jumped up on the table with his cage. The cat pawed at the cage and even knocked it off the table trying to get to the mouse inside it. Aubrey returned from school just in time to shoo the cat away and for a moment, Aubrey seems to have a good side, or to at least seem a little good and bad like Mrs. Crimmins. Christopher was happy because he thought anyone would be better than Aubrey. Christopher ended the chapter noting that this thought was very naïve.
