Summary

In Chapter 3, Gina was surprised when she saw Alex Scott, a man with whom she had once worked at a restaurant. He told her he had just moved to Nantucket and would be working with Cory Lawson. Connie, who was eating at the bar also, watched them with interest. Alex took Gina’s phone number and suggested they could have dinner together some night.

Later, Jared came from the kitchen a second time to fill glasses of soda. He asked Gina what her favorite part of the Stroll was. She said she did not have a favorite because she had never attended, a comment that surprised Jared and Connie. Gina agreed to go with Jared when he suggested she needed to experience it. When Jared was gone, Connie commented she thought Alex was nice, but she liked Jared better.
