Sloane

Sloane grew up in a small midwestern town with an older brother and her two parents. When the Dark One started striking Earth with deadly Drains, her brother and her father were both killed. Her mother, always aloof, became downright negligent. When a prophecy was presented to ARIS, they realized that Sloane fit the profile. Bert went to her house and found her sitting alone on the porch. He asked to speak with her mother, and when he told June that he wanted to take Sloane to fight the Dark One, June shrugged and said that was fine.

Sloane was reluctant to help save the world, but she dd so because she felt as if she did not have a choice. When she met the rest of her team, she bonded with them because they were all essentially orphans preparing to fight and possibly die against an evil...
