In Chapter Thirty-Six, Sloane woke up as Mox pulled into a motel. His magic was uncontrollable and explosive, just as it had always been when he was a child. Having spent the last decade on the run, he was extremely anxious. Sloane helped calm him down by touching his injured back, which Edda had hit with a steel pole.
