Chapter Twenty-Five Summary

Chapter Twenty-Five: Wahoo smells wood burning and wonders if Derek actually started a fire, but when he approaches he sees Tuna sitting cross-legged with her head down, Mickey with a bloodied brow and bound wrists, and a man who must be Tuna's father, Jared. Jared waves Tuna's flip-flop in the air as he paces back and forth. Wahoo overhears Jared's current plan, to escape with Tuna, with Mickey driving Link's airboat. Mickey says he can't drive, because he sees double since Jared hit him in the head with his pistol. Tuna tells her father that Mickey has had a concussion for months. She stalls for time by suggesting they give Mickey a chance to recover. Jared tells her to give Mickey some of her pink pills. Mickey remarks that Jared must be proud of the shiner he gave his daughter. Tuna...
