Chapter Three and Four Summary

Chapter Three: Derek Badger, whose real name is Lee Bluepenny, has no formal training in biology or forestry, or in any survival skills. He is a former folk dancer who happened to meet a talent agent in need of a rugged-looking man. The studio changed his name from Lee Bluepenny to Derek Badger, after considering Erik Panther, Gus Wolverine, and a few others. "Expedition Survival!" became a hit and Derek Badger became a star. Raven Stark works hard to keep Derek out of harm's way and discourage him from overeating. She speaks by phone with Derek, who is in Paris, and tells him she has found a twelve-foot alligator to film and a smaller one for him to wrestle.
