Summary
In Chapter 5, in Singapore on the morning of the Chinese New Year, the members of the Tan family drove in a convoy to Tyersall Park. The novel describes the rituals of visiting their family in order of seniority, eating, and giving gifts to children.
At Tyersall Park, Su Yi and her children, which included Eleanor, were involved in an elaborate tea ritual.
