In fact, the search for Mengele intensified under the guidance of Simon Wiesenthal and surviving twin, Eva Mozes. A letter to the press written by Eva Mozes was given to writer Lucette Lagnado that would lead to Miriam Mozes placing an ad in a newspaper that would result in the first ever reunion of Mengele twins.
