Chapter Eight Summary
When Seth arrives for the sitting Dru promised him, he brings her the painting he'd had framed for her and offers to hang it for her even bringing hangers with him. He'd selected a perfect frame, complimenting the flowers and foliage. They talk about the house, and Seth tells her that if she hadn't bought, it, he would have. She has difficulty keeping her thoughts professional. He gives her a bag that contains a long skirt and a narrow strapped top, asking her if she has any hoop earrings. The moment is about to become much more personal when her father calls to give her the news that he and her mother are getting divorced.
