Summary

In Chapter 11, Darcy shows Mallory an article about Mallory and Nolan. Darcy explains she found it by Googling Dad, which she did for a genealogy project at school. Mallory feels relieved when Darcy assures her she does not currently wish to discuss Dad and suggests she may be bribed into secrecy with Nutella. When Darcy mentions that there are fanfictions about Nolan, Mallory is shocked that Darcy reads fanfictions without parental—Mallory’s—supervision. Darcy reminds Mallory that she is not a parent.

Weeks go by with no word from Nolan. Defne informs Mallory of a tournament in Toronto and of something called the Chess Olympics which Emil requested Mallory’s participation in.
