Part 3, In Between: Chapters 19-28 Summary
Charlie goes out on a lobster boat with Tink to help in the search for Tess. They have found some debris from the boat, including a burnt life raft, that does not bode well for Tess's survival. Charlie finds himself wondering if Tess is still hanging around the cemetery or if her spirit has already moved on. As it gets closer and closer to sundown, Charlie becomes tense, anxious to return to the cemetery. Charlie tries to reassure Tink about Tess, at the same time rushing him to return to port. When they finally arrive, Charlie must run to make it to the cemetery on time.
