Part 2, Diving for Dreams: Chapters 11-18 Summary
Charlie has only twenty minutes to buy groceries for his dinner with Tess because it is nearly sundown. Charlie tried to date once before, but it did not work out because the girl did not understand his unwillingness to leave the cemetery. Charlie learned a long time ago not to tell people of his ability to see spirits, so he never told his girlfriend why he could not leave the cemetery. Charlie worries a little about what this date with Tess might lead to, but he is too excited to call it off. Instead, Charlie rushes into town to buy fish. Charlie runs into an old high school teammate and an ex-girlfriend. Charlie asks the girlfriend what she knows about Tess Carroll.
