Section 11: Chapter 15 and 16 Summary
In Chapter 15, Ali can already see his house when he decides to return to Esi. He has felt guilty for the fifteen minutes since he left her house because he cannot stay with her tonight since it is New Year's Eve and he traditionally spends it with Fusena and their children. He partially feels the need to hurry home and initiate his family's rituals, and he partially feels guilty that he thinks of his house with Fusena as home and there is no possibilty for establishing any rituals in his relationship with Esi. He decides to spend more time with Esi before going home, and wondering how his forefathers did it, he ponders which wife he will make love to on New Year's Eve.
