Section 2: Chapter 3 Summary
Opokuya has been a nurse and midwife for fifteen years. No one is as different as Opokuya and Esi, but they have been close friends for so long that they are nearly sisters. Opokuya lives on Sweet Breezes Hill with Kubi, her husband, and their four children. Opokuya and Kubi argue about the car's movements as they do every morning. He feels he should drive the car to work and leave it parked all day while she takes the hospital vans to work, but she wants him to take the car off government maintenance so she can take care of her family properly. The argument always ends with one of them giving in, and the winner drives the loser to work. Kubi asks why Opokuya needs the car today, and she explains that she needs to talk to Connie, his sister...
