Summary
In Chapter 11, Marty (the realtor handling the sale of the Chilmark house) calls Lincoln and arranges a meeting. Lincoln goes to Marty’s office. Marty shows Lincoln on a map that the only access between Mason’s house and the main road is through the land owned by Lincoln. Thus, Mason has technically been trespassing and would need to buy Lincoln’s house in order to have legal road access. In Chapter 12, Teddy returns to the Chilmark house. He, Lincoln, and Teddy notice a Donald Trump sign on Mason’s lawn and feel disgusted. Later, Teddy has a chance encounter with Mason. Teddy finds Mason deeply unpleasant. Mason expresses anger about the fact that Lincoln researched him online and is now talking about Mason’s past to other people. Mason says that he no longer wants to buy Lincoln’s house.
