The Institute

In Chain of Iron, the Institute serves not only as Shadowhunter headquarters in London but also as the site of James Herondale and Cordelia Carstairs wedding. By representing the Shadowhunters as a people and a collective, the Institute presides over the wedding to welcome the new couple into the folds of their community literally and figuratively.
