Summary
Celine and Pete continue their drive, and they spend another night in the camper. The spend further time looking at Paul’s National Geographic work, and they see that he spent a lot of time in South America. Celine talks to Pete about how the United States abetted many cruel dictatorships in South American countries during the years that Paul had assignments there. The next morning, Celine informs Pete that a man has been following them and has set up camp near them. Armed with a gun and shoulder holster, Celine goes out to talk to the man. He is Caucasian and seems to be in his mid-thirties. He also seems to have a military bearing. Celine is friendly towards him but says that she knows that he has been following her.
