Summary
Marcia Pearlman, the owner of the local hair salon Bee’s Bonnet, has Delia come to work for her as she had once done years before, and Delia quits her cleaning job. Marcia later suffers a stroke and asks Delia to take over running the salon, though Marcia is still the outright owner. Delia hires M.T. and Steph to work at the Bonnet with her. Despite the trio’s worries, the Bonnet begins getting customers.
Delia meets with Reverend John Hillman, the pastor at Grandma Windsor’s church, who agrees to intercede with Grandma Windsor on Delia’s behalf. Grandaddy Byrd visits Delia and warns her that Clint’s illness is worsening.
In the next chapter, Reverend Hillman begins making visits to Grandma Windsor’s house to try to convince her to let Delia visit her daughters, but Grandma Windsor is stubborn...
