Book 4, Chapters 26-30 Summary
Burke delivers the keys, at Flynn's request. Flynn goes on to say that Martin is one of those people who helps manufacture crises to define a purpose for himself. Flynn also thinks that Martin had help in the United States from the CIA or FBI. When Burke asks what Martin's purpose would be, Flynn tells him that he wants the terrorists and hostages dead so the Irish can be portrayed as savages. If Burke can handle Martin, he will handle the Fenians and the hostages and the Fenians will live. He also tells Burke to tell Jack Ferguson to leave the area before he is killed. They know he is a police informer.
