Flippy
Flippy is a fish who was a villain in an earlier installment of Pilkey's series. He is now one of the good guys and fills the role of father to a group of frogs and a tadpole. Flippy takes his role as a parent very seriously. He often chastises the youngsters to do their best, act appropriately, and be considerate. In this novel, Flippy realizes he has become the kind of parent who spends most of his time yelling at the youngsters. He actually comes to this conclusion after reading a comic written by Poppy. The fact that he is willing to evaluate himself is an indication that Flippy is a thoughtful character who is willing to learn from his mistakes.
