Summary

Chapter 6 is titled “That Night.” Melvin asks if Naomi is finished with the book. Naomi is not, but she is currently working on bookmarks as gifts for Starla and Summer. Melvin asks if Starla and Summer are still mad. Naomi says they probably are, “But I'm an influencer now. I have powers” (87). She invites Melvin to “Watch and learn.” She enters a room where Starla and Summer are seated at a desk. Naomi hesitates a few times as she speaks. She knows Starla and Summer like “Japanese stuff;” so, she wrote their names in Japanese. Flippy helped her write haiku poems. The girls say the bookmarks are cool and thank her.
