Summary

Chapter 7 is titled “Melvin and Naomi Get Their Chance.” The title page shows Flippy's hand holding out a broken cell phone while Naomi and Melvin look shocked. The chapter opens with Sarah talking to the three frogs known as the Hacker Brothers. She asks how they came up with the “cool toys” they use in their comic. The three frogs explain that they used broken toys along with supplies such as wire and hot glue. The yellow frog says they also use “Duck tape.” Sarah suggests he means “duct tape,” but the yellow frog says “it's funner to say 'Duck tape'” (112). The three discuss ideas while making new toys. They make sketches they call “storyboards.” They set up toys to look like the images in their storyboards, then use a computer to compile it. Sarah invites them to show their comic.
