Part Four: Thomas Pierce, Chapter 68-79 Summary
A bus driver finds Nana Mama in the street in front of the Cross home. Soon the street is flooded with police and emergency vehicles. Sampson arrives and runs frantically into the home, shocked to find the children bruised and battered. Nana Mama and the children were beaten in their beds, but their injuries are superficial. The biggest concern is Alex Cross. Cross has been shot twice. When Sampson arrives at Cross's bedroom door, he finds that Kyle Craig is already there and running the investigation. Craig has decided to bring in Thomas Pierce to investigate the attack.
Pierce arrives via helicopter, rushed to the scene from Quantico where he was making a report on the Mr. Smith case. Pierce, who is a medical doctor, has been informed of Cross's injuries and expects...
