The majority of Cassandra in Reverse is set in present-day London, England. At the outset of the narrative, when Cassandra is fired from her job walks into the busy city streets and is immediately overstimulated by the bustling city. After attempting to buy a banana muffin, she accidentally walks into an anti-fur protest and is hit with a splatter of fake blood. Throughout the narrative, the bustling city informs Cassandra’s social interactions as she dates and attempts to navigate friendship. After she and Artemis reconnect, Cassandra decides to leave London and move back to their childhood house in Cambridge in order to feel more connected to her identity.
