Summary
In Chapter 18, a chapter narrated by Cyra, Cyra followed Ortega to a door adorned with a spray of feathergrass and the name Surukta in the quarters where the engine room employees stayed. She said the woman who lived there was the one who had attacked Cyra. Cyra waited for her inside the room. When the girl came home and discovered Cyra there, she asked with more hate than Cyra had ever heard what she was doing there. The girl, who said her name was Teka, pretended not to know what Cyra was talking about when Cyra gave her back the makeshift knife she had used the night of the attack.
