Normals

Normals are human beings without magical abilities. They are not allowed to have any place in the magical world. Normals do not even know of the existence of the magical world. They take its physical effects to be something other than what they are. For example, Watford is believed by Normals to simply be an exclusive and elite preparatory school. Initially, Simon is considered the Chosen One because he is a Normal who has magical abilities –though it is later demonstrated that he is the son of two magicians.

The Sword of Mages
