Tennis Courts
Tennis courts are the most important settings of the novel. Carrie spends endless hours on tennis courts in countries around the world. The courts have different surfaces – clay, pavement, and grass – depending on the location and purpose. Most of the time, Carrie is working when she is on the court, though she finds some of the games also enjoyable.
