Summary
Chapter 1, "2011, This Ain’t the Summer of Love," is written from the killer's perspective. The killer is watching Robin’s house. He has killed a woman and now, as he watches Robin’s house, he tries to get the woman’s blood from underneath his nails and thinks about how he felt when he killed her. When Robin leaves with a man who readers later discover is her fiancé, Matthew, the killer follows them. When they get on the Bus 83, he does, too. He notices that Robin does not look happy and is wearing an engagement ring. Then a group of men get on the bus. The killer no longer feels so happy when he notices that some of them are wearing rugby shirts with a crescent moon and a star. He goes to the stairs of the bus and becomes even angrier...
