Summary
The Landing
This story is about a rather harrowing airplane flight that the narrator experienced. She was always nervous when she flew, but this time it was worse as one of the flaps on the wings was malfunctioning. She writes about being terrified but because none of the other passengers seemed alarmed, and since the steward and the pilot were talking so calmly that maybe it was okay. Then the narrator realizes that contemplating what measure of control she had over the situation, and realizing that she had none, there was an inner peace that followed her.
