Summary
In Chapter 8, when Denny went into Bruce’s store one day after the FBI’s surveillance camera had been installed, he was identified as one of the original thieves. He and Rooker were both arrested. Neither of them would cooperate with the police.
The next day, FBI officers Lamar Bradshaw and Derry Vanno served Bruce with the search warrant. He asked them if they were serious when they said they were looking for the stolen Fitzgerald manuscripts. Bruce read the warrant and then took the agents downstairs. They found no manuscripts in the vault. Even though bookshelves were not included in the search warrant, Bruce let the FBI agents search them. His first edition books were on the shelves.
