Summary
At the house on Emerald Isle, David's sister Amy tells him about buying Coca-Cola. The Coke company has starting printing common names on the cans and when she went to buy some, "there were only two left on the shelf, one with MOM printing on it, and the other with TIFFANY" (226). David asks if she thinks that if he was dead there would have been three bottles instead of two and the third would have his name on it, and she replies yes. A few weeks before, Amy had had a phone session with a psychic during which she talked to both their mother and Tiffany. David is skeptical but then admits that the psychic was strangely knowledgable about their personal family details. Amy tells David that Tiffany wants him to know that she is not mad at him any more and...
