Summary
In spring 2017, an elderly passenger sitting ahead of David on a plane "shit in his pants" (211). David averts his eyes, as he hopes others will do for him when it is his "turn to soil [himself] on a crowded airplane. For surely that day is coming" (211). David thinks that he will kill himself when it happens to him, as "there's no coming back from a thing like that" (212).
A few weeks later, while in Dallas, David contracts "a pretty serious gastrointestinal virus" (213). Unfortunately, he has a show to do so he pulls himself together and hopes that he will not have an accident of his own onstage. The next day, he is no better but he still has to travel for work and he is determined not to break his Fitbit step-streak so he walks around the airport drinking Gatorade. He now...
