Summary

In “Lena Stopp (1976),” Lena worried about her daughter Turtle. Turtle was distant after marrying Everardo. When their son Ever “was just six months old,” the couple drove “out of Oklahoma” and “down into Mexico” to see Everardo’s parents (2). Turtle later told Lena about the trip. When Everardo saw “his hometown,” he was sobered (2). Lena thought Everado’s moods were due to selfishness.

When Everardo’s mother Lucia saw her son, she “embraced him” (3). She had not seen him in years. Everardo told her about his brother Augustine and their other relatives in the States.
