Summary

In Chapter 28, the following day, when Eric walked home with Mary, she admitted she knew what Griffin and the others were planning to do to him at the cemetery, but she did not do anything about it. She was crying as she apologized. Eric felt as if he had been betrayed, but told her it was okay. She said when she saw the fight she promised herself that she would never be a coward again.
