Summary

In Chapter 21, Hallenback was waiting at Eric’s locker after school. Hallenback said he had something he needed to show Eric and took him to the Final Rest Pet Cemetery. At the far corner of the graveyard, Eric watched as a group of five boys, led by Griffin approached. Eric believed that Hallenback was about to get beaten.

Eric advised Hallenback to leave. Hallenback told Eric he was an “idiot” (137) and that the boys were not after him. It took a moment for Eric to realize what he meant.
