Summary
In Chapter 43, Autumn discovers Dax is waiting at her house when she arrives at home. She takes him for a ride, mindful of the conversation they are about to have and not wanting to risk interruptions. He instructs her to pull over and she does. She can tell he is angry and he says that “You saw my mom” (312). Autumn explains how the letter got mailed and he seems to accept that it was an accident, but is angry that she went to his mother's house to try to fix the situation. Autumn says Susanna vowed not to contact Dax but he says that is typical for her because she always lies “to get what she wants” (314). He says she “followed the address forwarding trail” and told him about “her new friend Autumn” (314). Autumn tries to apologize but Dax is beyond angry. He...
