Summary
In Chapter 16, Autumn wakes before Dax on Monday morning, knowing they have only this day and the coming night before the library reopens. Autumn enjoys the fact that Dax has his arm around her and that they are both warm. Dax moves away as soon as he wakes. Autumn reminds herself that he is a self-proclaimed loner with no attachments. They immediately begin to talk about what they plan to eat when they are able to leave the library. They discuss plans for getting away unseen when the library staff shows up. Autumn talks about “cronuts,” which are a cross between donuts and croissants. Dax says he has never had one. They talk about how to get money and food the fastest way possible the following morning.
