Summary
Thorsteinn comes to collect some of his books from the house that he and the narrator shared. The narrator then has a flashback of when her parents would speak Danish when they did not want her to understand the conversation. She also remembers a time when she would mow a neighbor man’s lawn in exchange for German lessons. She notes that he also showed her a picture of a naked woman. Suddenly, the narrator and her ex-husband (at this point the narrator begins to label him as her ex) begin having sex on the couch. Her ex-husband then asks if he can take the couch, and the narrator agrees, as she believes that it is funny that Nina will be sitting on a couch where they had sex.
