Chapters 3 & 4 Summary
After a long day of hiking, the teenagers rest for a few hours, sleeping in shifts, and wake at 5:00 am for breakfast. Ellie takes a walk to start her morning, marveling at how beautiful nature can be, even in the middle of a war. With a settled spirit, she returns to camp to find a fight raging between Kevin and Homer. Once again, Kevin has cold feet about wandering through enemy terrain without a plan. He would prefer to wait for Colonel Finley's helicopter - if it ever comes - in Hell. He would rather die in hiding than in battle, which none of the other crew members can fathom.
