Summary
Chapter Six begins with narration focusing on Rudy, his impatience growing in the aftermath of his capturing Tony. He tells Tony, motionless because of a potion that Rudy had given him, that he (Rudy) is angry, but still needs Tony to get the heart for him, because to do it himself would mean a smaller fee. He explains to Tony how he got his power – after his wife (whom the reader knows is Mami) kicked him out of their home, he became addicted to buff and got into trouble with the posse, who beat him up.
