Summary

In Chapter 23, "Home," a few days after Phil's injury, Streep met with Bear. Though Becky was worried about Phil, Bear "seemed cheery" (261). Having considered the community's concerns "about the Warrior Movement," Streep wanted to ask Bear more questions (262). Bear shared stories from his life by way of explanation.

In Chapter 24, "Must Be the New Shoes," Streep talked to Will. The summer was ending and he was thinking about "studying wildlife and fisheries" (264). He knew his chances of playing college ball were slim, and wanted to be realistic about his future. Even if he left home for college, he knew he would return to Montana.
