Summary
In Chapter 6, in the evening, Rufina and Rafa stop performing for the day. They go to the small home where their mother lived and died. The only other occupant of the house is an infant known as Baby. The narrations states that Baby was born 14 years ago and that Rosalinda and Rufina are the only ones who have ever seen Baby before. Baby has lived in this house since she was born. Rafa thinks about growing up in that house. It becomes evident that Rosalinda was not native to the United States, and that she immigrated from Central America in pursuit of a better life. Still, Rufina and Rafa grew up relatively poor. Rufina cooks dinner, and they inspect the contents of a wallet that they covertly stole from a tourist in the plaza. They do not necessarily need the money...
