Chapter 23 Summary
Odd heads to the kitchen for a sandwich. He sees Rodion Romanovich applying icing to cakes. Rodion claims to be from Indianapolis, but Odd doesn't believe him and tries to catch him in a half truth. It doesn't work.
Rodion asks Odd have a discussion about subatomic particles behavior. Rodion explains how quantum theory tells us that every point in the universe is connected with every other point, regardless of distance. That being so, people, information or objects should be able to move between one point and any other instantly. What holds us back is our lack of sufficient understanding. With that nugget, Odd excuses himself.
Chapter 23 Analysis
When Odd can't find the mysterious faceless figure he saw, he heads for the kitchen, suddenly hungry. Sister Regina Marie makes him a sandwich in less time than it takes Odd to wash his hands...
