Chapter 15 Summary
Sounding like bone on wood, the scraping continues, and then the doorknob rattles. Pressing his nose to the window he sees bone-like structures longer than fingers lined up like a serpentine keyboard, and curved through still more rows of bone that join with what appears to be knuckles and sockets. He watches it remake itself again and again. Then it flexed away from the window and was gone, leaving Odd hugging himself with a mix of wonder and dread.
Chapter 15 Analysis
Inside the school, Odd feels safe at first, and even starts to second guess what he saw and heard outside, but when the noises start at the door, all doubt is gone. The door rattles, and Odd goes to the window to get a closer look. What he sees defies everything he knows. A kaleidoscope of bones that are longer than fingers...
