Devon, p. 82 to Tyrone, p. 101 Summary
In Devon, Devon thinks Tanisha is gorgeous, but he does not hit on her because he knows she gets tired of being hit on by all the other guys. Tanisha tells Devon she gets tired of judgments; people look at her and think she is just a doll. He feels the same way because people classify him as a dumb jock. They put him in a box and label him. Devon reads an advanced poetry book, but he decides not to hide his love of poetry anymore. His friend makes fun of him, but Devon says he will take the book on the basketball team bus and make sure everyone sees it.
