As they resume the meeting with Tolliver and Shanahan, Nick notices that Clay looks flushed and ill. Clay quietly asks Nick to watch Elena. Jeremy starts to berate Shanahan on the serious charges he faces for his role in opening the portal and causing all of the chaos. Shanahan insists that his only role is that he was the owner of the letter. He starts to explain the purpose of the letter which is close to the story Anita told them earlier. Before he can finish telling the story, smoke comes out of Shanahan's mouth and he dies. Jeremy accuses Tolliver of killing Shanahan before he could finish telling them the story.

They drag Shanahan's body into a closet and take Tolliver off with his hands tied with rope so he can't cast any additional spells. Tolliver insists that there is no Jack...
