Chapters 41, 42, Epilogue Summary

In Chapter 41, Kovacs asks Wardani why she didn't stun him when they were on the Martian ship. She says she chickened out but Kovacs doesn't believe her. Vongsavath returns from looking for survivors with one survivor, which Kovacs shoots. As Kovacs lands on one of the loading docks, he starts to hallucinate, such as seeing dead Martians come alive. He decides to sit and wait out the medication he has been taking for a couple of hours. Carrera wakes Kovacs up, laughing because one of the Martian robots led Carrera straight to Kovacs. Kovacs gets Carrera to lift the faceplate on his suit and throws a bioagent at him that eats Carrera's face and then Kovacs shoots Carrera.
