Chapters 19 and 20 Summary
In Chapter 19, when the crew lands the ship, the Nagini, on the planet where the Martian dig is to take place, it is as if they are landing in a snowstorm. The white snow-like material is fallout from the bombing. The chapter provides a glimpse into what life was like for the colonists when they first landed on Mars. When they disembark into the Sauberville area, they board a ship in the waters of the planet Dead bodies are scattered around and rats are eating up the food that was left behind. The crew works on killing the large rats so they can continue their mission. They also find two dead, but chained bodies in the nets thrown overboard from the ship.
