Subject #31

Subject #31 appears in "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (1)." Subject #31 has created painstakingly detailed theories about how to best please a woman in bed. However, when he hear Subject #31 with his female conversation partner, he talks at length about his own theories without ever investigating what she has to say about the matter.

The Depressed Person

The unnamed, female depressed person appears in "The Depressed Person." The depressed person deeply and painfully internalizes relatively mundane experiences, such as hearing an unknown male at her school make a rude comment about a female acquaintance of hers. The Depressed Person devotes an incredible amount of effort towards therapy, seeing a therapist multiple times a week, and following through with recommendations from her therapist that make her uncomfortable, such as establishing a short list of friends, a.k.a. The Support System, for her to call between sessions.
